The demo software is an self extracting zip file which will install the
News Management Software on your hard disk. It will also create a NMS
shortcut on your desktop. Double click this every time you want to run
the program. If you encounter any problems contact As-Tech System

stating the problem and operating system you are using.

During Program operation help messages and prompts will appear on the bottom part of the screen. Use these to guide you
through the program.
Option number 3 "Customer Processing",is a lot more powerful then it may at first appear. Once the payment
details are up on the screen for a particular customer, you can access
and change all aspects of the customers details from this one point. Try
out the options and features which can be found by hit the function keys
on the top row of your keyboard. ie F2,F3,F4,F5,F6 and F10.

Serving Customers
This is the main option that is used during the day. It has been designed to let you get access and change all aspects of a customers order, without
being complicated and confusing.
Enter the customer's address and get access to all the features below.
Take customer payment quickly and accurately, normally only one key press (No more queues for the accounts book !).
Every thing that affects a customers normal weekly bill is shown on the screen, this helps to resolve queries quickly.
Prints concise receipt to reduce customer queries.
Get access to details of a customer's order at the push of a button.
Get a break down of a customer last six payments at the push of a button.
Get a break down of all rounds and deliveries for the customer at the push of a button.
Change a customer's order quickly.
Enter new or change existing holidays simply; just enter the start and stop dates and NMS will take care of the rest.
When going on holidays customers can stop , save in shop or have their magazines still delivered.
Adjust customer accounts manually. Add or take away money from the bill, with a description to stop queries in the future.
Add special one-off orders without changing the customer's standing order, no need to remember to remove it later on.
Add exceptions to a customers orders, stop delivery of some items between given dates.
Printing Rounds And Saves Lists
NMS will print rounds and saves lists for items entered as received taking into account any customers on holiday, and current title prices.
Rounds are produced quickly and may be printed a day in advance or on the same day.
Individual rounds can be reprinted instantly (in case of printer jams, lost sheets etc).
Rounds can be printed or redirected to a file.
You can lists magazines that are to be delivered the following day, these magazines will then appear on the following days rounds.
A list magazine and newspaper "shop saves" can be produced.
Handling Returns and Unsold Items
In order to produce accurate supplier bills , returns notes and wastage reports, unsold items have to be entered into NMS. Again this task is made simple and quick.
The majority of returns are entered simply by picking the title from a list of receives for the day.
Items not received that day, but returned, are entered individually.
End Of Week Reports
At the end of each week you can generate wastage reports, returns lists, and expected supplier bills for the week.
Handling Future Price Changes
Next time you get a list of price changes from your supplier (if your lucky), enter them into NMS along with the date. NMS will automatically
carry out the change on the right day.
NMS Reports
NMS has been designed to produce a concise and comprehensive set of reports on the state of your business. These reports can be one of the most
important and beneficial features of NMS if you use the information correctly. You can :
List out all your standing orders in either supplier, magazines, monthlies, part works, daily newspapers or sunday papers order.
Report, print news bills or generate reminders for customers using a combination of the following selection criteria :-
Type of customer (eg monthly \weekly),
Amount owed is greater than a specified value
Customers over preset credit limit,
Customers not paid since a specified date,
Customer status (live, suspended, outstanding).
Generate a delivery analysis report which provides a complete break down of all your delivery details such as:
Money generated from deliveries split by rate.
List of customers with number of items delivered against delivery rates.
A break down of the retail value per week of deliveries.
Current amount outstanding for all customers.
Total value of bad debts (you might not like this one).
Generate a magazine history reports to give a week by week break down of the number received,returned,delivered and saved for
each magazine for the last five years.
